Why the Ph.D. from Eller?
Small, Highly Selective Program
The School of Public Administration and Policy offers a small, highly selective Ph.D. program. The first students were admitted in 1997 and the program has graduated 8 students in the last 8 years.
The program is oriented towards training students for placement in university research and teaching positions throughout the country.
Students work closely with members of a nationally recognized faculty. Coursework is interdisciplinary, drawing on the School, the Eller College of Management, and departments throughout the University.
Advising is Key to Structuring Your Plan of Study
Each doctoral student works closely with their faculty advisor and the Ph.D. Program Director to develop a plan of study consistent with program requirements and the student's areas of interest. Candidates also have the opportunity to teach and do research, giving them valuable experience for developing their careers.
