Professor Keith Provan awarded the Brownlow Award for 2005
It is our pleasure to announce that Dr. Keith Provan has won the Brownlow Award, presented annually to the best Public Administration Review article of the year by a practitioner or practitioner-academic team. The award will be presented at the 2006 ASPA meeting in Denver, CO.

Assistant Professor Roger Hartley appointed to the Arizona Commission on Trial Court Appointments, Pima County
Dr. Roger E. Hartley was recently appointed by Governor Janet Napolitano as a member of the Commission on Trial Court Appointments, Pima County. Dr. Hartley's was nominated by Pima County Supervisor Richard Elias after an interview. The Commission on Trial Court Appointments is a merit selection commission that accepts, screens, and interviews candidates for Pima Count Superior Court judgeships. The commission is responsible for sending no less than three names to the Governor. The Governor then selects the nominee from this list. The Commission has 10 public members that are balanced by political party and 5 attorney members. Dr. Hartley begins service and screening of candidates for a new judgeship this October. His nomination to the Commission must be confirmed by the State Senate in the spring legislative session.
