The Rombach Institute on Crime, Delinquency,
and Corrections
The mission of the Rombach Institute on Crime, Delinquency, and Corrections is to foster public policy in criminal justice and assist the state of Arizona in its criminal justice activities.
The Institute's goals are to conduct and disseminate high quality public policy research on crime delinquency and corrections, and to assist Arizona state and county officials in evaluating programs, training staff, and initiating innovative policies and programs.
Financial assistance is available for undergraduate and graduate students that display academic potential and commitment to public service in criminal justice. The Institute also strives to coordinate graduate and undergraduate internships and service learning opportunities in Arizona criminal justice agencies, and presents the annual Rombach Award to an outstanding MPA student in the School of Public Administration and Policy.
The Rombach Institute was founded through the generous donations of Lionel E. ("Lee") Rombach. Rombach earned his MPA in 1961 and served as Chief of Pima County's Adult Probation Department. His 25-year career as a juvenile and adult probation officer gave him first-hand experience with the challenges facing the criminal justice system.
